"Sometimes you just stumble on to things that make your eyes grow a bit wider and your heart beat a little faster. I can’t really explain how fast the goose bumps grew on my arms after one listen to “Nothing is Real (As if it ever was)”, from the band Bottom Line. The song’s immediate energy makes you press the accelerator a little harder and take the corner a little faster without even thinking about it. I’ve been fortunate to get a sneak listen to their new album Eloquence which will be coming soon, and it’s almost overpowering with strong, creative, lush sounding songs. (The drummer is ridiculous by the way.) These guys not only rock, but also spin, jump and kick with their mix of punk/pop and power harmonies. They also perform with a passion, never letting the audience turn away. These guys have been on the famed Warped Tour for the last 3 years and have toured Japan. They were on their first Warped Tour and in Japan before they even graduated high school! They have also shared the stage with the following bands: Dashboard Confessional, Story of the Year, Something Corporate, Brand New, Finch, Ultimate Fakebook, Hey Mercedes and Hot Rod Circuit, to name a few. So whatever you do on Saturday, September 11th, make sure that includes going to the rockin’ new W274 in Cool Springs to see this band. They are going to bring down the house. If you see an “M” on the outside of the venue instead of a “W” when you arrive, it’s because Bottom Line just rocks that hard."

"Go out and get this CD. Then take it to your friends house and play it for them...  Then take the CD back and tell them they have to get their own and go home and stick it in your CD player and be satisfied for 27 minutes.  Bottom Line gives you a  good excuse to at least give that The Starting Line CD a rest for a bit."
Cincypunk.com (Arkadeaxos/Dec. 2002)
Bottom Line, close to, if not the most popular and hottest band in Cincinnati right now. 'In And Out Of Luck' combines five songs from their old EP remixed and remastered, and combines them with a handful of new songs to create an incredible sounding album. Bottom Line brings an original harmonic pop punk sound to the table, packed in with an edgy rock twist that leaves you singing along to all of the lyrics and hooked to every song. The CD from front to back is a highly energetic album with great songwriting abilities shown and vocals that mirror the majority of your Drive Thru bands.
Whether or not you are a Bottom Line fan or not, it is obvious this group has more than it's fair share of talent and potential and will without a doubt be on a major record label within the next year. If your library consists of a good majority of Drive Thru bands (not to mention pop punk bands in general), and you dont own this CD, you should be questioning your existence. BUY THIS ALBUM.

Honestly, Bottom Line play music that couldn't be any less my kind of thing. Regardless, I can't help but give them a positive review. I say this because, amid the clouds of dust swirling through the 100-degree air, I saw their performance at the New York City Warped Tour date this past August while I was sitting at the Scissor Press merch table. I was impressed with their stage presence, and I'm impressed with how they are able to perfectly capture it in a studio recording. These guys have more energy than hamsters on speed, and they play tight and catchy (although totally unoriginal) melodic pop-punk at a breakneck pace. This is a release that should do well with the younger pop-punk Drive-Thru crowd, and I recommend this if that's what you're into.

"...moments of delicacy and roar nestled next to each other. This kind of playing requires passion and feel for the song as well as each other as players. Really great sound as a band."

"There's something refreshing about music hitting you like a ton of bricks.  Honestly, there is.  Fast-paced, energetic, in your face, or whatever it is - it just feels so good...Somewhere between pulling the door to the Pontiac Grille open, getting hit by high speed, energizing music...five to ten minutes later, [my friend] leaned over to me and shouted something above the music, "Hey, these guys are good!"  Crazy, I was just about to say that...What can you expect from Bottom Line?  One thing is for sure, and that is fast paced and catchy songs.  There is not one single slow song on their 2002 release "In and Out of Luck."...Bottom Line = fast songs that I really can't get enough of...What else is there to say for this band?  Their live performance is just as energetic as their music.  They're a fun band to watch.  As far as pinpointing their sound, there's no better way to describe it as "pop punk with a distinct rock edge," which is used to describe the band in various places.  They offer lyrics that aren't as complex as some of the twisted screamo/emocore/whatever-you-prefer-to-call-it songs these days, but aren't as juvenile as, say, your average pop star...There's not much more to say about this band except that they have quickly become one of my favorites.  Bottom Line's music is just what I crave and I can only see this young band getting better.  In a day when all pop punk is beginning to sound all the same, it is a very welcome relief to hear a different take on it...Wrapping this all up, I'd like to tell you about something that happened this week:  On the bus home from school, I was talking to a friend of mine..."So who's this band you told me about in gym?" he asked.  "Bottom Line," I replied pulling out my discman out of my backpack and tossing him the headphones.  He listened to about a minute of "Thirty Seconds" before handing my headphones back.  "I don't like them," he told me, which I knew he'd say. Does he like any band I listen to?  I doubt it.  "You should really listen to some Beatles stuff," he insisted.  Here's the deal:  While the Beatles may be a good band, it's not really my type of music.  That's not something I can go through life stuck in my head.  So I explained it to him.  "Then what is your music?" he asked.  I held up my discman and tapped it with a finger, indicating to the Bottom Line CD inside.  "This."
